Brown Eyed Girls’ Jea to Release Solo Album This Year

Brown Eyed Girls’ Jea is preparing to take a shot at going solo, becoming the last Brown Eyed Girls member to make her solo debut.

Jea is aiming to release her solo album sometime near the end of the year.

In a recent encounter with enews, Jea said, “I’ve been preparing my solo album for a fairly long time. I’m thinking this year I’ll be able to stand alone onstage as a solo singer.”

Jea will thus follow Gain in her solo activities, as Gain also is planning to make a solo comeback in August to follow her first with step 2/4. Miryo, the rapper of the group, previously released her first solo album, MIRYO aka JOHONEY, early this year in February. Narsha released her own solo album two years ago in 2010.

Jea does feel a bit more pressure on her shoulders as she is the leader of Brown Eyed Girls.

“Everyone’s preparing her own thing, but we’ll be able to release an album as Brown Eyed Girls early next year. Please support the members that will continue to work hard in their own areas this year,” she said as the group’s leader.

Jea added, “Ever since I started singing solo, I’ve realized how important exercise is. It’s not easy to sing one song all by myself since I’m used to dividing it among the members. I’m investing a lot of time into vocal practice along with exercise to put on a great performance. I won’t forget my roots as a singer, and how we started off as a vocalist group.”

Brown Eyed Girls recently released its new single One Summer Night. It wasn’t promoted on broadcasts, but fans have been delighted by the new release as it is said to be reminiscent of the music Brown Eyed Girls debuted with in 2006.
