‘The Thieves’ Expected to Gather 1 Million Three Days Since Its Premiere

The Thieves is still staying strong even after the day of its premiere.

On July 27, three days since its premiere on July 25, The Thieves is expected to gather 1 million moviegoers. The film sold 430,622 tickets on the day of its premiere, and 410,192 tickets on July 26 for a total of 862,663.

Although July 26 was a weekday, more than 400,000 people visited the theaters for the film. There’s no reason the numbers will drop on July 27, because it’s a Friday, the start of the weekend. The film is thus expected to break through the 1 million mark on July 27.

The Thieves is also receiving much praise for its quality. The score for the film on Naver Movies has been staying close to 8 out of 10, even showing an upward trend.

The Thieves is about how a group of thieves join forces to steal one infamous diamond. The quick editing skills characteristic of director Choi Dong Hoon has his audience on the edge of their seats during the 135 minutes it airs. The large-scale scenes shot in Macau and Hong Kong are also staggering.

The film even features a cast of actors that are hard to see in one film, such as Kim Yun Suk, Kim Hye Soo, Lee Jung Jae, Jun Ji Hyun and Kim Soo Hyun. The Hong Kong actor Simon Yam adds to the international diversity.
