TVXQ (DBSK) topped charts and broke records in Japan yet again!
On July 25, the Oricon announced that TVXQ’s live concert DVD Live Tour 2012~TONE~ had sold 151,000 copies in its first week, and easily topped Oricon’s Daily and Weekly DVD Charts.
This
was TVXQ’s fourth time to top Oricon’s Weekly DVD Chart, a feat that
broke the group’s own record as the foreign artist with the most no. 1
records in Oricon history.
It also set a new record, making the
group the first foreign artist to have two consecutive DVD releases top
the Oricon DVD Chart.
The Oricon also reported on the new record
with the title ‘TVXQ becomes first foreign artist to place no. 1 for two
DVDs in a row’ through its webpage on August 1.
The DVD contains the Tokyo Dome concert held on April 15 from the group’s Live Tour 2012~TONE~ tour, which toured through 11 Japanese cities from January to April.
The group is also rewriting Oricon history with its albums, as its single album Android released in July sold 3.1 million copies and gave the group its 11th no. 1 win on the Oricon Weekly Single Chart.
The single thus won the group the title of foreign artist with the most
no. 1 wins on the Oricon Chart, as well as that of the foreign artist
with the most copies of an album sold in Oricon history.
TVXQ next plans to meet with its Japanese fans at the SMTown Live World Tour III in Tokyo Dome from August 4-5.
