CN Blue Releases Brand Song for T.G.I.Friday’s, ‘Friday’

CN Blue released its brand song Friday for the restaurant chain T.G.I.Friday’s.

Friday was composed and lyricized by Jung Yong Hwa, who has been recognized for his talent as a singer, actor, producer and composer, and invites its listeners to travel to a joyous place where they can enjoy fun Fridays every day. Its keywords include cocktails, parties, romance, freedom and fun.



A rep from the restaurant brand said about Friday, “A fitting brand song that will help T.G.I.Friday’s build a positive image as a joyful location of Fridays has been born. The restaurant is all about casual dining, so CN Blue’s brand song Friday will match the restaurant perfectly.”

CN Blue has also been trying out bartender roles through the special reality program It City – CN Blue’s Love On Party on the O’live channel.

Scenes from the Love On Party, which took place at a T.G.I.Friday’s, also appear in the music video for Friday.

Jang Nara to Release Her First Chinese Album in Seven Years

Jang Nara is making her music and big screen comeback in China.

On August 21, Jang Nara’s Chinese movie Flying With You will premiere in China. This will be her first lead role in a Chinese movie, and the actress spoke all her lines in Mandarin and shot her own action scenes.




In addition to the release of her movie, Jang Nara will release her first Chinese album in seven years on August 2. Journey of Love is her fourth album in China and comes seven years after her 2005 album Kung Fu.

The new album will contain a total of 10 tracks including Flying With You’s theme song Zhi Xiang Qi Ni which is the Chinese version of her Korean single I Only Think of You released in March.

2NE1 Collaborates with Youtube Star Jung Sung Ha

2NE1 used its time between world tour concerts for a surprise collaboration.

On August 1, a series of videos showing 2NE1 perform acoustic versions of its hits with the Youtube star Jung Sung Ha were uploaded on Naver’s Tvcast.



The rearrangement of I Love You was especially surprising as it gave off an entirely new vibe after the acoustic guitar sounds took the place of the song′s original blaring electronic sounds, and a performance of Lonely also touched hearts with its emotions.

Jung Sung Ha is a talented guitarist who has gathered more than 300 million views with his guitar videos on Youtube. He has become known for covering many of 2NE1’s songs in his own style.

YG Entertainment, which had seen Jung Sung Ha’s various covers, offered to work together with the guitarist, and he took up the offer immediately as a big fan of Big Bang and 2NE1. The 2NE1 members had a great time asking him to play many songs for them on the spot when they got together for the video, and Jung Sung Ha promptly lived up to his stars’ expectations with many impromptu songs.

2NE1 plans to concentrate on its global tour now that the collaborative video is out. The group launched its global tour New Evolution with concerts in Seoul from July 28-29, and will go on to New Jersey on August 17, L.A. on August 24 and to Japan in September.

TVXQ Sets New Records with DVD and Single on Oricon

TVXQ (DBSK) topped charts and broke records in Japan yet again!

On July 25, the Oricon announced that TVXQ’s live concert DVD Live Tour 2012~TONE~ had sold 151,000 copies in its first week, and easily topped Oricon’s Daily and Weekly DVD Charts.



This was TVXQ’s fourth time to top Oricon’s Weekly DVD Chart, a feat that broke the group’s own record as the foreign artist with the most no. 1 records in Oricon history.

It also set a new record, making the group the first foreign artist to have two consecutive DVD releases top the Oricon DVD Chart.

The Oricon also reported on the new record with the title ‘TVXQ becomes first foreign artist to place no. 1 for two DVDs in a row’ through its webpage on August 1.

The DVD contains the Tokyo Dome concert held on April 15 from the group’s Live Tour 2012~TONE~ tour, which toured through 11 Japanese cities from January to April.

The group is also rewriting Oricon history with its albums, as its single album Android released in July sold 3.1 million copies and gave the group its 11th no. 1 win on the Oricon Weekly Single Chart.

The single thus won the group the title of foreign artist with the most no. 1 wins on the Oricon Chart, as well as that of the foreign artist with the most copies of an album sold in Oricon history.

TVXQ next plans to meet with its Japanese fans at the SMTown Live World Tour III in Tokyo Dome from August 4-5.

T-Pain Also Fan of Psy’s ‘Gangnam Style’

After being tweeted and shared by Robbie Williams, reddit, Gawker and Josh Groban, American rapper T-Pain is the latest to have fallen for the charm of Psy’s Gangnam Style.

T-Pain became the latest star to tweet Psy’s raved-about music video for Gangnam Style on July 29.

In the tweet, the rapper wrote, “Words cannot even describe how amazing this video is…” and included a link to Psy’s music video on YouTube.




Since its release on YouTube on July 15, both the song and music video have enjoyed enormous popularity. Its sharing and re-tweeting by global stars and regular netizens alike have pushed the music video’s view count to close to 9.5 million views and the video currently sits at #15 on the YouTube 100.


Producer of ‘Haeundae Lovers’ Says T-ara’s So Yeon is Very Polite

Producer Song Hyun Wook of KBS2’s Haeundae Lovers touched on the T-ara incident by talking about what he thought about So Yeon, who would be appearing in the drama.



The press conference for Haeundae Lovers was held on August 1 in Seoul. This day, the cast — Kim Kang Woo, Jo Yeo Jeong, Jung Seok Won, Nam Gyuri, Kang Min Kyung, Im Ha Ryong and Lee Jae Yong — were in attendance to talk about the drama and how they felt about it.

Producer Song Hyun Wook said about the drama, “Our drama will be showing a lot of bodies, as Haeundae usually speaks through bodies and has us use our bodies a lot. I hope our viewers blow away the heat [with our drama] like they’re on vacation in Haeundae.”

He also touched on the issue surrounding his cast member So Yeon, saying, “I hope the recent [T-ara] incident is resolved well.”

So Yeon’s appearance on Haeundae Lovers drew more interest after the T-ara outcast rumors and controversy broke.

So Yeon was planning to launch her new actress career as Jo Yeo Jeong’s role’s best friend Lee Kwan Soon, a girl who speaks with a strong dialect.

Producer Song added, “So Yeon is a fun person to be around on set, and she’s very polite and works hard. I hope you watch on with warm eyes.”

So Yeon wasn’t present at the conference this day, and the production company revealed that there was no plan in the first place to have her attend. Many asserted that she should leave the drama, but sources close to the singer stated that they planned to push through with her appearance.

Haeundae Lovers will start up on August 6, following in Big’s time slot. Most of the shoots took place in Haeundae, and the drama is a romantic comedy that takes place near the beach.

Former Wonder Girls Member Sunmi Spotted at 2PM Wooyoung′s Party

After hiding from the spotlight, Sunmi, formerly of Wonder Girls, was recently spotted in a photo.

Floating around online communities, the photo was taken from a celebratory party, commemorating 2PM’s Wooyoung’s first solo release.




Aside from Taecyeon, Chansung, Junho, and Wooyoung, Sunmi was also shown in the group photo, looking as pretty as ever.

It was said that despite not being signed under JYP Entertainment anymore, Sunmi has been continually practicing and training. She is currently enrolled at Dongguk University.

Netizens who caught a hold of this picture commented, “I miss her,” “When can we see her on the stage again,” and “She’s still pretty.”
