The press conference for The Thieves was held on June 12 in Seoul. Director Choi Dong Hun and actors Kim Yun Suk, Kim Hye Soo, Lee Jung Jae, Jun Ji Hyun, Kim Hae Suk, Oh Dal Su and Kim Soo Hyun were present to talk about the film.
When asked by the event’s host on how he felt about his big screen debut, Kim Soo Hyun answered, “I still can’t believe it because I haven’t seen the film yet. I can’t believe I’m sitting here together. When I first met my seniors, they didn’t do anything, but still I felt daunted. (Laugh) I think that’s why I learned more.”
Kim Soo Hyun took on the role of the youngest thief Jampano, who joins the thief team to steal the diamond named Tears of the Sun. Jampano shows an attachment to ′Anycall′ (Jun Ji Hyun), and ends up in a kiss scene with her.
To a question asking him about his kiss scene with Jun Ji Hyun, Kim Soo Hyun answered, “I was really nervous. I tried to concentrate as Jampano, but you know looking at Jun Ji Hyun sunbaenim (senior) helps you concentrate better. I think that’s what drove me to do my best. It was great.”
The Thieves is a film about 10 thieves from Korea and China who gather to steal the Tears of the Sun, an infamous diamond hidden in the casinos of Macau. It will premiere on July 25.
